Why the double strike in Hollywood is necessary

Actors sometimes work at the subsistence level and can no longer earn their living with acting jobs alone. In recent years, for example, the royalties from TV broadcasts have all but disappeared for jobs in series production.

The fact that major projects like Deadpool 3 and Gladiator 2 are now hitting is painful for fans – and the point of the matter. The unions are exerting pressure with the strike. The larger and more popular the projects that stall, the greater the leverage.
