4 of the best traits to choose to start with

In Starfield you can create your character at the beginning and shape it according to your wishes. The problem here, however, is that you could quickly give the wrong attention to one of the most important things in the game. We show you what properties are and what you should watch out for.

What do I have to watch out for? After completing the introductory mission, you can create your character. In addition to detailed features on the face and proportions, this can also be given a background story and characteristics.

While you must choose a background upon creation, the properties are purely optional. Nevertheless, they also have advantages that can have a positive effect on your travels. The problem, however, is that these traits also come with a negative effect, so you’re dealing with a double-edged sword here.

Before you choose no properties at all, we will show you 4 options that could definitely be worthwhile.

4 qualities that are worthwhile

You need to know: You have a total of 17 properties to choose from. When making your choice, you must note that you cannot activate every property. Some are mutually exclusive. The best examples here are “Introvert” and “Extrovert”. You can’t have both, you either take the first or the second.

There are also traits that relate to factions and religions and ensure that you get advantages and disadvantages as well as new dialogue options. Now let’s move on to the qualities that might be worth checking out.

You can see all the traits again in the character planner at nukedragons.com.

Terra company

What does this property do? This trait gives you more health and oxygen when you’re on planets, but decreases the same when you’re in space. Since you’ll be exploring a lot of different planets, it’s a worthwhile investment.

empath

What does this property do? This trait makes you very empathetic and gives your companions a temporary boost in combat efficiency when you do things that your colleagues like. However, the exact opposite happens when you do things they don’t like.

taskmaster

What does this property do? If you have a trained crew on your ship, it will automatically repair itself when the condition is below 50%. But you also have to pay twice as much for your crew if you want to hire them.

Hero Worshiped

What does this property do? You’ll get the attention of a fan who will join your crew. He will babble at you, but he will also shower you with gifts. Useful if you have a small crew to start with.

Those were all the traits that could possibly be worthwhile at first. Note that you don’t have to select any traits at all. You can also start blank and don’t have to worry about unnecessary difficulties. Nevertheless, one or the other property offers certain advantages that outweigh their negative effects.

Which traits did you choose? Did you make a choice or did you start with no traits? Let us know!
