There’s a real action spectacle on TV today. Powdered for over four hours Sylvester Stallone’s mercenary squad in The Expendables and The Expendables 2 has every resistance. Stallone and Dave Callaham wrote the script for Part 1, paying tribute to the Action films from the 80s and 90s Tribute. Of course, the stars from that time couldn’t be missing either.

Seeking revenge, the mercenary squad embarks on its most dangerous mission, with Stallone’s warriors uncovering a conspiracy that could change the balance of power in the world.

What makes The Expendables series so successful is besides that Action that defies physics and logic probably also the bringing together of several megastars of the genre. Those who have aged a bit, but whose bodies are still steeled. With so many names all united in one film, many a fan’s dream has come true.

If you think it couldn’t get any better, you’ll find it here two other parts even more mega stars. Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Megan Fox, 50 Cent, Wesley Snipes and Antonio Banderas, to name just a few of the names, are there. Although the first three parts made double and triple their production costs, part 4 flopped at the box office (via The Numbers). It is unclear what will happen next with the series.
When is The Expendables 1 and 2 on TV?
The Expendables is on on VOX in a double pack. Today, Thursday, February 15th, Part 1 will be shown at 8:15 p.m., Part 2 will be shown at 10 p.m. There will be a repeat of part 1 on February 16th at 10:15 p.m. and part 2 on February 17th at 11:05 p.m.
