(Finance) – 3Man American industrial giant, announced that Solventum it will be there name of the future independent healthcare company following its spin-off. Solventum originates from two words: “solving” and “momentum”. “Solving” captures the company’s commitment to finding innovative solutions, while “momentum” symbolizes faster, more agile innovation.
“It’s about another significant milestone on the path to creating two world-class companies, 3M and Solventum,” said Mike Roman, president and CEO of 3M. “We continue to prepare for the spinoff and are committed to generating long-term value for shareholders.”
The new name and brand will take effect when the expected spin-off of the independent healthcare company occurs in the first half of 2024, subject to final approval by 3M’s Board of Directors and other required conditions. Until the spin-off, Healthcare will continue to be part of 3M and will be governed by 3M policies and procedures.
3M’s healthcare business will continue to focus on markets such as: wound care, health care IT, oral care, filtration and purification, which have led to sales of $8.4 billion in 2022.
