A man is charged at the Gotland district court with a serious weapons offense for having manufactured and possessed a 3D-printed automatic weapon, as well as associated ammunition.

The man, who is 25 years old, was arrested in January on suspicion of serious weapons offences. According to Aftonbladet since he reported himself. Several items were seized and sent to the National Forensic Center (NFC) for analysis.

At least one 3D weapon made by the man has been shown to be functional during test firing at NFC. According to the prosecutor, several other seizures fall under the Weapons Act’s rules on the obligation to obtain a permit.
