The man is now convicted of the three breaches at Arlanda Airside, the part of the airport that is beyond the security controls. Being on Arlanda Airside without permission is a crime as it is a protected object.
The man got in twice last fall, in October and December, and once in January this year, something Uppsala Nya Tidning was the first to report.
– There are a handful of cases of trespassing at Airside, but what distinguishes these cases is that he managed to stay for quite a long time without being detected, says the prosecutor.
Unusual with prison
The man, who is a citizen of an EU country, came to Sweden at the end of October last year. The second time he was convicted, he received 14 days in prison. The third time he was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment and deportation.
According to the prosecutor, it is very unusual for a prison sentence to be imposed in this type of crime. But the court considers it justified based on the frequent relapses, with the same crime three times in three months.
The man in the court: Wants to return again
The Court of Appeal also recently made the assessment that deportation is required to prevent the crime from being repeated, because the man told the court that he wants to return to Arlanda Airport again after serving his sentence.
The man will therefore continue to be detained until the deportation is carried out.
