$36K drug seizure in Ridgetown

A 59-year-old Ridgetown woman faces a trafficking charge after a drug seizure Tuesday night.

Approximately $36,000 worth of suspected cocaine and oxycodone were seized for analysis after the raid at a Victoria Avenue location Tuesday night, police said. Less than $1,000 in Canadian currency, digital scales, cellphones and a packaging material were also seized.

The accused is charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The woman was transported to police headquarters where she was released with conditions and a short date.

Man charged with multiple driving offenses after crash

One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Longwoods Road in Louisville Tuesday morning, police say.

A man was driving eastbound on Longwoods Road when his vehicle veered into the westbound lane, colliding with a westbound vehicle, police said.

The westbound car left the roadway and came to rest next to a field. That driver was injured, police added.

The eastbound driver fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival. As police dogs and drones were used to locate a suspect approximately two kilometers west of the crash scene.

A 26-year-old Sarnia man is charged with failing to stop after a crash, impaired driving causing bodily harm, and failure/refusal to comply with a demand.

The accused was also issued a Part 3 summons for driving without a valid driver’s license.

The man was later released with conditions and a short date.
