Batman v Superman: Dawn of Jutice is a superhero spectacle like no other that fans have been waiting for for ages. But they still weren’t really happy with the film and that’s partly due to a very specific scene. You can see for yourself on TV today.
What is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice about?
You may have already guessed from the title, but Batman v Superman is all about that Conflict between Gotham’s Dark Knight and the Man of Steel from Metropolis. The Dawn of Justice in the name already indicates that the foundation stone for the Justice League is being laid here.
Because Superman (Henry Cavill) is not really aware of his power and leaves many people dead as collateral damage, Batman (Ben Affleck) completely freaks out and wants to get to him. Along the way, the two heroes also have to deal with classic villains like Doomsday and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg).
Warner Bros.
Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) also appears in Batman v Superman.
This scene spoiled the fun of Batman v Superman for many fans
In general, many Batman fans are bothered by the fact that the hero really wants to kill Superman, which doesn’t fit with his other ethos. In the end he lets himself be stopped from doing this, but only because it turns out at the worst possible time both the mother of Batman (or Bruce Wayne) and Superman’s mother Martha is called.
A curious fact that many fans are not necessarily aware of. Zack Snyder didn’t just make this up, but here it’s revealed in such a strangely contrived way that it’s a real joy. Batman wants Superman then suddenly no longer kill, but save his mother – because he couldn’t do that with his own (which had exactly the same name!).
The whole thing illustrates the humanity and vulnerability of the two superheroes, but for many fans it doesn’t work properly on several levels and doesn’t seem very logical. Especially that Superman versus Batman calls his own mother by her first namemany viewers find their criticism simply not credible.
