30 years after his death Audrey Hepburns style continues to

Audrey Hepburn is always a source of inspiration. His emblematic looks were taken over years later by many celebrities, and even by the new generation!

Sofa diamonds (1961), Sabrina (1954), Charade (1963) … Audrey Hepburn marked an entire generation. Not only by her acting talent, but also by her dress style which is still today a model for many celebrities and directors. Proof of this is, the successful series Emily in Paris was inspired by certain looks and film scenes featuring Audrey Hepburn.

On the red carpet or for special occasions, the stars also do not hesitate to recreate looks from the deceased. We think in particular of the dress that Kendall Jenner worn during the Met Gala 2021. Signed Givenchy by Matthew M. Williams, it was clearly a nod to the creation that Audrey Hepburn had dressed in the film My Fair Lady (1964). Interviewed by Vogue during the event, the Top Model had also said: “I love Audrey, so we [Kendall Jenner et le designer Matthew Williams] really wanted to take a special moment of her and do it ours. And I have the impression that he did an extraordinary job. She was carrying all the time of the Givenchy“.

But lately, more and more stars have taken over its emblematic looks. This is the case of Kaia Gerber in particular, which, in October 2024, walked the red carpet of the “Fourth Annual Academy Museum Gala” in a Haute Couture fall 1997 of Alexander McQueen for Givenchy. Her black dress, encrusted with pearls, recalled the white ball gown carried by Audrey Hepburn in the film My Fair Lady (1964).

Ariana Grande is no exception to the rule. For her look of the Golden Globes, the singer was inspired by an Audrey Hepburn outfit. She wore a yellow strapless dress encrusted with pearls from the Givenchy archives. This 1966 dress not only echoes a creation that the American actress had brought for years earlier, but, associated with long characteristic gloves, it is a real tribute to her look in Sofa diamonds.

The same goes for the daughter of the American president Donald Trump, who was carrying during the ball of liberty, Monday January 20, 2025, the same Givenchy dress as that of Audrey Hepburn in the film Sabrina. It is a strapless dress with black floral details. She also paid tribute to him by carrying a long black glove.

Audrey Hepburn has therefore not finished being a source of inspiration! His look in Sofa diamonds (1961) is often taken up for costume and Halloween festivals. Indeed, it is simple to make and very elegant. You simply need a pearl necklace, a dress and long black gloves (without forgetting the famous bun) and voila!
