Police and an ambulance were called to an apartment after neighbors called in about a shooting shortly before 1 a.m.

– A seriously injured unconscious man was found at the scene. Intensive work is now underway to locate the perpetrators. We carry out interrogations and door knocking, says Fredrik Nilsson, officer on duty at the Stockholm police.

Ambulance personnel initially treated the man directly on the spot, but later took him to hospital. During the night, it was established that the man, who was known to the police from before, had died. Relatives have been notified.

According to information to SVT, the victim was a man in his 30s from Södertälje who is said to have been part of the so-called Södertälje network.

No one arrested

According to the police, the crime scene is an apartment, but it is unclear if the man was shot inside it. Several people, both children and adults, are said to have been in the apartment, but none of them is suspected of involvement. No one has been arrested.

– We have picked up a number of people for questioning, but no one has been detained, says police spokesperson Daniel WIkdahl.

On Tuesday morning, the crime scene is still cordoned off and the police remain at the scene. The incident is classified as murder.
