30 migrants found in truck in Czech Republic

Czech police found 30 migrants, one of whom was dead, in a truck on a highway between Prague and the German city of Dresden on Monday.

A helicopter was called in to search for several of the people, who fled from the truck when it was stopped by the police. Later, the police at X stated that all had been found and taken into custody.

The deceased person, a woman in her 30s, was found unconscious in the truck.

“A doctor declared her dead after resuscitation attempts were made,” writes rescue workers at X.

The other people in the truck did not need hospital treatment, but were in “bad condition” according to the emergency services.

According to the police, it appeared that the migrants were on their way through the Czech Republic to another destination.
