Within everyone’s reach, homemade laundry detergent is rather easy to make. The advantage is that you will know exactly which ingredients go into your laundry detergent. There are several types of detergent to make at home so you can concoct the one that suits you best!

Cherry on the cake, laundry house is often much more economical than that bought in supermarkets. It generates a less water pollution since the ingredients used respect the environment. The fact of packaging it yourself also avoids systematically buying a can and therefore… plastic !
Marseille soap detergent
This ecological laundry remains a classic. Marseille soap is known to be hypoallergenic and gentle on theepidermis. Marseille soap detergent is therefore suitable for washing the clothes of newborns and people with sensitive skin.
Only three ingredients (or four depending on your recipe) are needed to add water to make this homemade laundry detergent. So, for about 2.5 liters of product, you will need:
- 2 liters of water;
- 100 grams of Marseille soap flakes;
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda ;
- 1 tablespoon crystals welded ;
- 10 drops ofessential oil of your choice (eucalyptus, lavenderlemon, tangerine, etc.).
Start by heating the water in a large saucepanthen add the glitter of Marseille’s soap. Stir regularly with a spoon wood until they are completely melted. Take the laundry out of fire and wait a few minutes for the preparation to cool down then add the soda ash and the bicarbonate of soda, stirring regularly. Leave to cool for a moment and pour in the drops of essential oil and fill a container with your homemade detergent.
Tip: for very dirty laundry, you can make a detergent by replacing Marseille soap with black soap.
ivy laundry
Less common than soap-based detergents, washing powder with ivy is certainly the most economical!
Ivy has detergent and foaming properties thanks to its content of saponin. To concoct about 3 liters of ivy detergent, you will need to collect 150 grams of ivy leaves, without the stems.
Start by cutting the leaves into pieces so they can release more active subtances, then plunge them into a pan of simmering water. Leave to cook for ten minutes, stirring from time to time and crushing the pieces of leaves so that the saponin can be released. Your preparation must then macerate for 24 hours in the pan. Once the time has elapsed, filter it with a cloth and pour it into a container. The color green and looks very liquid detergent are normal and it gives off a odour very vegetable to which you can add a few drops of an essential oil.
You can use it for all kinds of laundry, however, it is better to add a tablespoon of sodium percarbonate to your washing machine for white clothes!
ash lye
If you have a wood stove or fireplace, this recipe is for you! You just need to collect the wood ashesthen sift them.
For 1 liter of water, allow about 150 grams of ash. Immerse them in a basin of water and let them macerate for 48 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent the ashes from falling to the bottom. Filter your preparation using a tightly woven cloth and possibly add essential oils. You can finally pour your ash detergent into a bottle and use it!
