The new set 9.5 was released in Teamfight Tactics on September 13th. Although the basic principle of the old Set 9 has been retained, some new champions, items and attributes have been added to the game. In this guide we will introduce you to three combos with which you will easily win the first rounds.
What makes up the featured comps? In this guide we present you the combos:
All three combos are super easy to learn because you can work towards the finished board from the start. You can collect Void, Noxu and Bilgwater champions right from level 1.
The comps Bastion Targons and Rogues are also currently strong, although these two builds are harder to play and therefore do not play a role in this guide.
8 Voids
When should I play the combo? For this combo it is mandatory to have a Void Crest. The best way to get this is through the Portals region right at the start of the game. However, you can also be lucky and get a Void Emblem via the augmentations.
What champions does it contain?
Which attributes are activated?
Which items do I need? Your two carries in the game are Kai’Sa and Belveth.
Kai’Sa absolutely needs Jeweled Gauntlet and Spear of Shojin. Guardbreaker is the strongest third item, but Guinsoo’s Rageblade would also be possible here.
Bel’Veth, on the other hand, loves the Bloodthirster and Titan’s Resolve. A third item can be the Rapid Firecannon, but also something defensive.
Fiora logically gets the Void emblem. Remaining tank items can be packed on Rek’Sai or Kassadin.
What is the general gameplay like? You start in the early game with 3 Void characters, mostly Malzahar, Cho’Gath and Kassadin. You really want to get Rek’Sai so you have two Bruisers in the frontline. Useful additions are also Swain for the Sorcerer buff or Taric for Sorcerer and Bastion.
You want to get to level 8 as quickly as possible with the combo. So you save up to 50 gold and then try to level up. This method is also called “Fast 8”. You’re trying to have a win or a loose streak to maximize your gold. The goal is to reach level 7 around 3-6. Level 8 should then be possible at Stage 4-3.
At level 8 you first roll all your gold to find the most important champions for your combo, including Bel’Veth if possible.
7 Noxus
When should I play the combo? You can actually play this combo anytime. Logically, you switch to this one if you find Noxus champions like Cassiopeia, Samira and Swain early on.
What champions does it contain?
Which attributes are activated?
Which items do I need? Your main damage comes from the champion Mordekaiser and your tank is Swain. He mainly relies on Redemption and Warmog’s Armor. Both Sunfire Cape and Ionic Spark work as third items.
You feed Mordekaiser Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Nashor’s Tooth and Rapidfire Canon. So the bows are an important part of the combo.
You can put additional offensive items either in Darius or in Aatrox in the late game, while defensive items end up in Sion.
What is the general gameplay like? In the Noxus combo you play very boringly. You collect 50 gold quickly, always buy the right units and want to reach level 6 around stage 3-2. In addition to the classic units of the combo, Warwick looks good in the team because he brings the attributes Challenger for Samira and Juggernaut for Darius.
If you have lost too much life by level 6, first try to collect the 5 Noxus + Warwick for the combo. If you are good at the game, you can simply continue leveling up to level 7.
Since you usually won’t find a Sion immediately at level 8, Jarvan IV and Heimerdinger are also good units to bridge the search. Until you find Aatrox, you should also set up another Slayer so that Mordekaiser can use his full potential.
7 Bilgwaters
When should I play the combo? Bilgewater is one of the new combos from Set 9.5. Similar to Noxus, you can switch to this origin at any time. Especially if you already have Illaoi and Graves at the beginning, it makes sense to continue building in this direction.
What champions does it contain?
Which attributes are activated?
Which items do I need? Your carry in this build is Miss Fortune, while Nautilus takes on the role of tank.
Miss Fortune absolutely requires Giant Slayer and Jeweled Gauntlet to deal maximum damage. Adaptive Helm or Blue Buff are good additions.
Nautilus, on the other hand, likes Warmog’s Armor, Redemption and either Sunfire Cape or Dragon’s Claw.
More damage items go to Nilah, while Illaoi takes the other tank items.
What is the general gameplay like? The basic process is very similar to Void. You build a combo of 3 Noxus early on and then 5 Noxus + Warwick later.
At level 8 you first roll all your gold to find the most important champions for your combo, including Sion and Aatrox if possible.
