This week, 3 new MMORPGs were introduced that could hardly be more different. One relies on pirates, one on many features and one is made in cooperation with Twitch streamers. There was also a lot of news about WoW this week, a scandal in FFXIV and New World has announced a new update for next week.
The highlights of the week:
The streamer group OTK around Asmongold and Mizkif are working on a new online RPG in Unreal Engine 5. They are now looking for players for their playtests. In addition to the streamers, the former WoW developers Chris Kaleki and Douglas Frazer are also involved in the implementation.
Uncharted Waters Origins is a new MMORPG on Steam and is scheduled for release in 2023. Highlights are the huge open world, pirate ships and well-known historical figures that you should be able to meet.
The Quinfall convinced in the first trailer with strong gameplay and many features. It is scheduled to be released on Steam in 2023.

In WoW on February 8th, 13 specializations will be buffed, but two healers will be nerfed. Blizzard also announced an adjustment that would make a rare mount much more common. Blizzard itself made headlines for having to pay a $35 million fine over the sexism scandal.

As announced, the sandbox MMORPG Fractured has gone offline. The return is planned for March, the boss announced on Discord.
