In WandaVision, it was the nosy neighbor Agnes whose true identity was built up as a big mystery that was solved after seven episodes with one of the most creative reveal scenes ever. The spin-off series Agatha All Along, which has been running weekly on Disney+ since September 19, 2024, has another mystery that fuels fan theories and speculation.
This time, the identity of the character played by Heartstopper star Joe Locke nameless teenager at Agatha Harkness’ side to the great Marvel mystery. Due to magical censorship, he doesn’t seem to be able to reveal personal information, such as his name, to other people. So who is he really? Warning, possible spoilers follow.
The first episodes and trailers already give hints that a huge revelation is looming over the course of the nine episodes. Is Teen actually an Avenger known from the comics? Or does the Marvel devil Mephisto really have a hand in it this time? Here you can find out more 3 exciting theories about teens’ true identities explained.
Agatha All Along Theory 1: The teen is Agatha’s son Nicholas Scratch
WandaVision fueled wild theories with Agatha’s fluffy rabbit, who goes by the name Señor Scratchy. In the end, however, it was not the character known from the Marvel comics. Magician and villain Nicholas Scratch behind it. Now these speculations could actually bear fruit: It was Agatha(s son) all along.
Who is Nicholas Scratch? In the Marvel comics, Nicholas is the son of Agatha Harkness and a dangerous wizard whose seven children founded the villain group Salem’s Seven. Sound familiar? That’s also the name of the mysterious figures who show up in Westview in Agatha All Along.
In Agatha All Along, the witch once had a son named Nicholas Scratch. She may have sacrificed him in exchange for the powerful Darkhold. We have not yet found out exactly what happened to the child. Has he now returned in the form of a teenager to take revenge?
But that’s not all. In the Marvel comics, Nicholas is also a servant of the devil MephistoYes, the Mephisto that MCU fans once suspected was behind the events in WandaVision – and were completely wrong. But this time he could really be the secret villain behind everything and possibly have sent Agatha’s child from hell to Westview.
This theory is supported by the fact that a kind of mother-son dynamic seems to be developing between Teen and Agatha. Perhaps the MCU witch will not find unimaginable power at the end of Witches’ Road, but rather her child who was thought to be dead?
Agatha All Along Theory 2: Teen is the Avenger Billy Kaplan and Wanda Maximoff’s son
Although a Nicholas Scratch revelation would promise a direct emotional connection to the series’ main character, there are plenty of indications that Teen is actually someone else entirely. Rumors have been circulating for some time that Joe Locke’s enigmatic character is named Billy Kaplan and becomes a Young Avenger.
In the Marvel comics, Billy Kaplan is the real name of the popular Young Avengers Wiccan, who first appeared in 2005. Like his potential comic book role model, Teen is a gay teenager with magical abilities. In addition, the first teaser trailer showed us Teen in an outfit that was vaguely reminiscent of Wiccan’s superhero costume, which was also referenced in WandaVision.
Wait, Wiccan was already seen in WandaVision? Here comes a huge comic twist. Billy Kaplan is the Rebirth of Wanda Maximoff’s son, who was extinguished years beforeAt the end of WandaVision, Scarlet Witch’s magically created children also dissolved. It is therefore possible that Billy’s soul then entered the body of a “teen” named Billy Kaplan. Unfortunately, he cannot remember his former self.
Another clue to these theories can be found in a new teaser that shows “teens” magical powers for the first time. His magic is blue – like that of little Billy in Wandavision and comic Wiccan. Many fans are already convinced that Teen must actually be Billy:

Agatha All Along Theory 3: Teen becomes a Marvel mix of Billy and Nicholas
Many signs indicate that Agatha All Along could be the first real appearance of the future Young Avenger Wiccan. But even if Teen reveals himself to be Billy Kaplan, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Wanda Maximoff’s child will return. The Marvel Cinematic Universe could be the Completely reshape the comic character’s backgrounds – as with many other Marvel characters before.
It would certainly be an unexpected surprise for comic fans if Billy Kaplan did not contain the returned soul of Wanda’s child, but rather the soul of Agatha’s own son, who also inherited magical abilities. This would tie the MCU Wiccan’s origin story not to the Scarlet Witch, but to Agatha Harkness.
Whichever path the series ultimately chooses, there is another question beyond Teen’s true identity that still needs to be answered in the coming episodes. Who enchanted the boy with a seal anywayto hide his identity? And why?
We will find out in the coming weeks whether one or more of these theories come true. New episodes of Agatha All Along appear every Thursday on Disney+. It continues with Episode 3 on September 26, 2024.
