In other words, filming the Cloud Atlas story is complicated. However, together with Tykwer, the Wachowskis have created a remarkable film that captures all the characters, places and times tangible and experienceable makes – for example through music, feelings and the clear color concepts of the individual worlds.
It becomes particularly exciting when the individual stories flow directly into one another thanks to the possibilities of the cinema. Cloud Atlas resembles a three-hour montage that makes it abundantly clear that the cut is one of the most valuable tools in filmmaking is. As meaningless as the additional German title may seem at first glance, everything is actually connected here.
