The Acolyte provides new insights into the recently revealed Sith villain Qimir in episode 6, which you can stream on Disney+ from July 3, 2024. However, with two more episodes still to go, it is reasonable to assume that the new Star Wars series has more surprising twists in store. Is there perhaps a secret second villain? In fact, there are already references to a Sith Lord named Darth Tenebrous.
Warning, possible spoilers for The Acolyte:
The Acolyte provides clues about the Sith villain Darth Tenebrous
Darth who? If you have only watched the films and series from the Star Wars universe, you will probably never have heard the name Tenebrous. In the history of the Star Wars saga, this is a powerful Sith Lord. He is the master of the Sith Darth Plagueis, who in turn many years later takes a certain Sheev Palpatine under his wing.
But how are Tenebrous and The Acoylte related? So far, there are three clues that are related to the Sith Lord. Firstly, there is Qimir’s spaceship, which can be seen briefly in the background in the last two episodes. Its design is vaguely reminiscent of the Scimitar, Darth Maul’s ship. According to Star Wars lore, this model was designed by Tenebrous.
In addition, the trailer for The Acolyte already contains another Spaceship that has not been seen in the previous six episodes This could be flown by a previously unknown second villain:

The planet Bal’demnic is so far only known from non-canonical Legends books (formerly Expanded Universe). The description of the coastal surface and the mention of valuable cortosis deposits fit strikingly with what we saw in episode 6.
And what does Bal’demnic have to do with Darth Tenebrous? This planet plays an important role in the novel Darth Plagueis. It is the place where the Sith master is murdered from behind by his student.
How are Darth Tenebrous and The Acolyte villain Qimir connected?
It is not yet known whether we will actually see Darth Tenebrous in The Acolyte. Since we are in the Star Wars timeline around 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace, it can be assumed that the Sith Lord existed at that time. Now the question arises as to how the newly revealed villain Qimir is connected to him.
Is Qimir possibly a student of Darth Tenebrous – Darth Plagueis himself? Or is he a completely unknown wannabe Sith who is looking for a student so that he can challenge the existing Sith duo and take their place? The Acolyte still has some answers to provide in the remaining two episodes. It continues with episode 5, which will be released on July 10, 2024 on Disney+.
