$3.4 Billion Submarine Deal from Israel and Germany

A $3.4 billion submarine sale agreement was signed between Germany and Israel. Within the scope of the agreement, Israel is purchasing 3 submarines from Germany.

The statement regarding the agreement was made by the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Within the scope of the agreement, a strategic cooperation application of 850 million Euros will also be implemented between the two countries.

In accordance with the said agreement, the German company Thyssenkrupp will complete its production within 9 years and deliver the first submarine to Israel.

The German company will also build an educational simulator in Israel. It was announced that the agreement also covers the spare parts of the submarines.

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz also expressed his satisfaction with the agreement. Gantz thanked the German government for the agreement and their support for Israel’s security.

There are still 5 German-made Dolphin type submarines in the Israeli navy and the production of 6 more of the same model continues.
