At least 21 civilians and eight police officers have died in protests in Sierra Leone on Wednesday, CNN reports.
The data on the dead policemen comes from the country’s youth minister, while the number of civilian casualties comes from Reuters hospital sources around the West African country.
The demonstrators in, among other places, the capital Freetown, have protested against inflation and increased living costs. In some places there were violent clashes with security forces.
