Paul “IcePoseidon” Denino was considered the most controversial streamer on Twitch, made famous with the MMORPG OldSchool Runescape and IRL streams. But in 2017 he was permanently banned from Twitch. Now streaming on Kick, he’s facing serious legal troubles after too wild a night out in Bangkok.

A party at the hotel gets wild and boisterous
This is what happened now: After his Twitch ban, IcePoseidon is back as a streamer on the Kick platform and organized an IRL stream with friends in Bangkok, Thailand.
Since “Hangover 2” at the latest, Bangkok has somehow been considered a wild party city in the West, but partying didn’t go well at all for IcePoseidon.
In a hotel, IcePoseidon and some of his friends celebrated on June 28th in a separate room, a lounge, a boisterous party that was broadcast live via kick stream.
In a 16-minute YouTube video, IcePoseidon can be seen donning black lingerie: he wears panties, garter belts and a bra. His girlfriend Kimberlee asks him to give her a lap dance, and IcePoseidon obeys the request somewhat awkwardly.
Manager bursts into the party, finds it disrespectful, gets more and more angry
How does the situation escalate? But then things get out of hand: The hotel manager shows up with some security guards and explains to the streamers in English with a strong accent that something like this is not possible in Thailand. She also recorded it all.
The streamers say it’s not a problem, they’ll pay and leave.
But they can’t seem to get out of the situation. The situation seems more tense with every passing minute and the manager is getting angrier and her tone sharper. Apparently, the attempts at appeasement only upset them further. When they offer her money, it gets even worse.
Finally, the hotel manager announces that she will notify the police immediately. The streamers would not respect Thai culture and Thai women:
You can’t do that in Thailand. This is very serious. My manager is also a woman.
The manager then hisses at IcePoseidon to put the camera away or does he want trouble with her.
The manager seems to be getting more and more upset, the reason doesn’t seem really clear.
The streamers appease: “You will pay for it” – but the manager says she doesn’t care about money. Money is worth nothing in Thailand. It’s about respect for her.
When the announcement “you just wanted to have fun”, she replies: “That’s not funny” and demands to see the IDs of those present immediately.

Situation seems resolved – Streamer says we just need to report to the police
What happened immediately afterwards? As IcePoseidon said after the stream, his girlfriend was accused of saying her dress was “too sexual for the public” and that she “exposed too much breast”.
IcePoseidon probably didn’t realize until after the stream what kind of problems he got himself into while just trying to have fun. He seemed quite subdued in statements.
He said:
“We were drunk, we were in a room. I didn’t understand the seriousness of the situation we were in.”
However, after the stream, one of his speakers said: No lawsuit had been filed because technically no law had been broken. The streamers would only have to go to the police station the next day and “help with the investigation” (via talkesport).
The situation is developing badly – now imprisonment is imminent
But what happened afterwards? The situation developed much worse than initially assumed after the incident.
As Dexerto reports, IcePoseidon was arrested and had to spend time in a Thai prison, where he was held in difficult conditions.
He reports on Discord that he was only given a bucket to relieve himself in, but the bucket already contained feces.
According to him, he now faces 5 years in prison. The streamer is free after posting $12,000 bail but is awaiting his trial in Thailand, which is not scheduled to take place until 2024.
The streamer says: “If I get 5 years I’ll just kill myself. I will not survive in a Thai jail.”
He reports being charged with distributing obscene material because the lap dance was filmed. His girlfriend’s dress had also become a problem.
The information all comes from a Discord server that IcePoseidon uses to keep people updated on his fate.
That sounds like a very uncomfortable situation. While Kick has looser rules than Twitch, that doesn’t mean they enjoy any real-world free rides:
