28 expulsion minutes in one period: “Horror film”

Summit in Umeå.
Then it was the thornbacks from both Björklöven and Oskarshamn who together accumulated 28 expulsion minutes – in one period.
– It’s a horror film, says expert Fredrik Söderström in TV4’s broadcast.

The second period in Umeå became a long story.

Partly because the teams continued to exchange goals with each other and left for the last period break with 6-4 on the board, but also because the teams took a lot of expulsions.

In total, there were 28 expulsion minutes in the middle period alone.

“Stupid”

Most notable in that category was Oskarshamn’s Michael Joyaux’s double sending off, where he first went for a roughing and then reacted by sending the puck in the direction of one of the referees.

TV4’s expert Fredrik Söderström describes the whole period as a “horror film” and says the following about Joyaux’s actions against the judge:

– It’s stupid. Come on, you’ve already been expelled.

New tablet

The chaotic period was followed by an even calmer 20 minutes where there was only one more sending off – and Björklöven secured the victory through Martin Fransson’s 7-4 goal.

It was the second game in a row that “Löven” scored seven goals – they beat Kalmar 7-2 last Friday.

The Umeå team is new in the table, while Oskarshamn is fifth.
