At 11 pm on Saturday 3 August, several shots were fired at the restaurant in Midsommarkransen, in southern Stockholm.
A man at the restaurant, aged 25, was hit and later died of his injuries. According to information to SVT, he must be connected to a criminal network.
The arrest lifted – the suspicions remain
The very next day, a 27-year-old man was arrested, and later arrested. The prosecutor primarily wanted to see the man detained on probable cause on suspicion of the murder, which is the higher degree of suspicion. The district court remanded the man, but then on the basis of reasonable suspicion of aiding and abetting murder.
Now the prosecutor has lifted the detention, as he could not substantiate the suspicions. The 27-year-old, however, should remain a suspect in the investigation, according to Sveriges Radio.
May have been caught on film
There must be surveillance images from the restaurant, which may have captured the murder and which the police took part in the investigation. There were also several people in the restaurant when the shooting occurred.
