Nobody consistently makes as much money on Twitch as 27-year-old Félix “xQc” Lengyel. With currently 71,294 subscriptions, he earns around €250,000 per month from the subscriptions on Twitch alone. Nevertheless, in one clip he looks heartbroken when he sees what his colleague shroud has that he is missing.
How rich is xQc?
Canadian xQc was a pro in Overwatch in 2018, then switched to Twitch as a full-time streamer, and in December 2019 was able to fill a void created at the helm of Twitch when Twitch’s two stars, Ninja and shroud, joined the Mixer platform changed.
As of around 2020, the 27-year-old has consistently been one of the top or top streamers on Twitch: expected to generate significant revenue from advertising, sponsorship deals and subscriptions. He also runs YouTube channels and also generates income there.
When Twitch 2021 leaked, xQc was seen earning $648,000 in one month from Twitch alone. His net worth is estimated at around $10 million. With his 71,294 subscriptions alone, he currently earns around €250,000 a month – assuming a 70:30 split, which probably still counts for him at the moment.
What is he missing? Anyone who now thinks xQc is crazy happy with his life is wrong. You can see that in a clip.
After a long day at work on Twitch, xQc surfs the channels and gets stuck on the streamers Sodapoppin and shroud. While watching shroud’s gameplay he says:
He lives his life. He lives with his girlfriend in a nice house. I mean look at this. I can’t sleep at night, eat McDonalds – at every meal. I’m alone in this stupid house that I hate. I know I could change it, I know But still.
It is not entirely clear who exactly he is referring to. Both Sodapoppin, which he looks at beforehand, and shroud, which he sees as he speaks, his statements can apply.

xQc lack sleep, a home, sensible food
What is he missing? xQc seems to be missing 4 things that streamers like shroud and Sodapoppin got right:
a home where you can feel good
A partner
regular, sensible meals
(xQc apparently lacks sound sleep too, but it’s not clear if shroud and Sodapoppin have it)
xQc streams 8.5 hours a day with no down time – can never switch off
Why doesn’t he have all that? xQc has a terrible work-life balance:
xQc streams 3,131 hours a year
Sodapoppin is on the air a mere 1,546 hours a year — He moved out of his streamer house in March 2023 and is now living with his girlfriend (via sportskeeda)
The shooter legend shroud comes to 2,133 hours – he has been living an apparently tranquil life together with a girlfriend for a long time and has also celebrated it in a commercial
xQc, on the other hand, has apparently had a hard time privately, allegedly he was married to his long-term girlfriend Adept for a short time, divorced again, and had to move frequently because of stalkers. From the outside it seems as if he just hasn’t been able to rest for years and never manages to switch off.
Reddit doesn’t understand why a multi-millionaire eats fast food
How is this discussed? On Reddit, they don’t exactly discuss the subtle causes that could have the problem, but the whole practical thing: why the hell does xQc, with all the money he has, only eat from McDonalds? It can’t be that difficult to find a decent cook or restaurants. Even “UberEats” would be an upgrade:
“He could have a private chef every day making him healthy five-star meals three times a day for the rest of his life, but instead he keeps ordering from McDonald’s and complaining about it.”
“When you’re suffering from depression, it doesn’t matter what you COULD do. More often you can’t even get the simplest things done and you’ll just stay in your comfort zone and not try anything.”
“Sodapoppin pretty much has the same hobbies as xQc. But the difference is that soda is a healthy habit, at least by comparison […] most importantly, Soda makes an effort to socialize with others through his hobbies. You can be an isolated gamer and still be social. There are gaming guilds, communities, […]where you can develop relationships and meet friends […]
There are also voices that suspect that the sleep problems could be due to the abuse of the drug “Adderall”: This is said to be widespread in the overatch scene, where xQc comes from. But that’s speculation.
An example of how to live reasonably reasonably as a top streamer, despite major problems and stress, is Tyler1 of all people:
LoL: Twitch streamer employs his own mother as a cook – pays her handsomely
