A young woman explains on YouTube why she thinks the 40-hour week is out of date and does not want to work. Many speaks from the soul, but others react with angry comments.
What kind of statement is that? The 26-year-old Anna, who is active on YouTube under the name Anna elsewhere, published a video entitled “I don’t want to work on February 6, 2025.” In it she explains that she explains the classic model of a week of 40 hours of working time is no longer up to date.
In some industries, AI is already being used, because it always works without complaining.

26-year-old finds the 40-hour week overhauled
What exactly does she say? Anna, who himself works as a pedagogical specialist in a children’s living group, says she never wants to work 40 hours a week again and criticizes a system that represents productivity over everything.
As a consequence, the 26-year-old has already reduced working hours in her job. But such a solution is not possible for everyone. A social rethink is required here.

“I only lived for my work for two years. And I didn’t get rich ”
How are the reactions? Anna’s video received 95,000 views in just over a week, quite a bit for a channel with just 4,500 subscribers. Many people recognize themselves in their statements. In the comments it says:
But others seem to feel personally attacked by the video. In another video on YouTube, Anna shows some of the comments and responds to the criticism. Some find the ideas of the 26-year-old “utopian.”
40 hours a week are feasible – there was something productive at the end of the day and “not only got stuck on your own ego trip,” writes a user. Another says: “So I think this woman tells total crap.” Such people should “arrive in reality.”
Some also think whoever thinks is “absolutely not resilient” or choose “completely wrong jobs.”
And what does she say about the criticism? Anna briefly responds to the most common criticisms, sometimes makes her statements from the first video clear again and also explains how our society should work in her opinion.
The 26-year-old also admits not to be an economic expert and not to have a “perfect solution” ready. For them, however, it is a fact that something has to change in order to become a bit happier as a society-and if it is only something like the 4-day week. This should even be permanently introduced in a country in Europe.
Anna’s comments always show the prejudice that young people simply don’t want to work properly. But many find: the work is simply worth it much less than before. This is how a user writes: “[…] In the past you could afford a house with a job that was relatively badly paid and could therefore work towards something. ”
Nowadays, such a wish is unrealistic. You wonder what you should do for all. This is how many other younger people are doing: Generation Z is fed up with being described as a lazy worker: Boomer had it easier
