All EU countries except Hungary jointly demand an “immediate humanitarian pause, which can lead to a sustainable ceasefire”, says EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell at his press conference after Monday’s EU foreign ministers’ meeting in Brussels.

At the same time, he notes that they have still not been able to agree on sanctions against extremist Israeli settlers, which were demanded – and already nationally introduced – by several EU countries.

However, the Czech Republic and Hungary continue to oppose a common sanctions system.
