The international dog show that was arranged at Ekängens IP in Eskilstuna this weekend is large in comparison to similar shows in the country. That’s what Minna Vaattovaara, chairman of Södermlanland’s kennel club, says. She says that around 2,500 dogs were present.
Community
– It is the largest of its kind this year. For breeders, this is a good opportunity to follow their breeding and see how the offspring have developed. For the individual dog owner, it is a good opportunity to have their dog assessed. Those who are interested in the competitive aspect will have their excitement met.
– Then it is above all a fantastic community where the whole family can participate.
For big and small
Minna Vaattovaara tells us that it’s not just adults who get to compete. During the past weekend, small children got to show off their stuffed animals, while the slightly older children got to compete in their own category – junior action.
One of them was Maja Nordström, who just got her first dog: the Cavalier King Charles spaniel Luna.
– I am competing for the first time, she says.
In the clip, you get to meet Maja and several other participants and get an answer to the question of whether it is really important to have a purebred dog.
