24-year-old woman convicted – was behind cocaine delivery to Gotland

It was shortly after midnight on Friday 7 July last year that two young men – 18 and 19 years old – from Helsingborg arrived by ferry to Gotland in a rental car and checked into a centrally located hotel in Visby.

They were arrested early the following morning by police on Cypressgatan with a kilo of cocaine hidden in the car. The 18-year-old was then sentenced to closed youth care for one year and ten months and the 19-year-old to prison for five years.

Fled abroad

The now convicted 24-year-old woman was wanted at the end of July, but managed to stay away and flee abroad. On January 12, however, she could be arrested on Swedish soil.

The District Court states in the judgment that the 24-year-old woman “admittedly did not store and transport the narcotics herself”, but that it was proven that she participated in the planning and “that the measures she took were necessary for the execution of the crime”.

The cocaine seized in Visby this summer was worth SEK 900,000 on the street, according to the police. Photo: The police
