The e-sports clan FaZe has made a radical change and kicked out 14 members via Twitter, including Twitch streamer Kalei (24). She finds the expulsion unfair and brutal.
What’s going on at FaZe?
He was a well-known member of FaZe, FaZe Jarvis:
FaZe Clan kicks out 14 members via Twitter post
This was the brutal decision: One of FaZe’s founders, FaZe Banks, wrote a tweet on April 27th in which he listed 14 names, including himself and streamers like Stable Ronaldo or Nickmercs.
He writes: “Everyone else is out. This is our squad.”
Banks fired 14 members in one fell swoop and halved the number of FaZe members.
A dream dies for a streamer
This is the reaction: Being a member of FaZe Clan was a dream and a life goal for many streamers. There was even a separate game show in 2022 to become a member of FaZe.
One of the people who got caught and who Banks has now kicked out is Kalei, a Twitch streamer known for her play in Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends:
The streamer says she has never cried on stream before, but now it catches her and it makes her very emotional.
Kalei explains that she found out 12 hours in advance that she would be thrown out. But all complaints were ignored.
What does Banks say? In the stream with Adin Ross, the old and new boss says it’s nothing personal. But FaZe was controlled by “corporate money” that just wanted to milk the brand, and that’s not how it works.
FaZe was a “commercial shit show” for years (via TikTok.) Banks himself complains that his shares were “stolen” from him.
Asmongold: FaZe has always been a group of scumbags
This is what lies behind it: In general, the decision is controversial:
The streamer Asmongold said about the campaign (via YouTube): He thinks it’s good that FaZe is going back to how it used to be. But FaZe has always been a group of scumbags. That’s how they worked and that’s how they are now.
FaZe does trick shots, has an e-sports team and always has drama on social media. That is their identity. The commercial direction never worked, says Asmongold.
There is apparently a clear dispute over direction at FaZe. It was sparked by actress Grace van Dien (Stranger Things), who was invited into the clan. What some of the “old guard” saw as a betrayal of FaZe’s values.
You can see it like this, but how harshly people are treated who are viewed as foreign bodies is difficult:
