The 92nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans takes place this weekend of June 15 and 16. Find everything you need to know to follow the biggest endurance car race in the world.
After five consecutive victories for Toyota at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ferrari succeeded last year in putting an end to the hegemony of the Japanese team. A masterstroke achieved by the Pier Guidi/Calazo/Giovinazzi triplet since 2023 marked the great return of the Italian brand to Sarthe. For the 92nd edition of the greatest endurance car race in the world, another legendary manufacturer returns to Le Mans, 14 years after its last appearance: Lamborghini. But the Taurus brand, which can count on former Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean, will undoubtedly have difficulty competing with the best. However, the first three rounds counting for the World Endurance Championship did not really allow a clear hierarchy to be established with three different winners: Porsche in Qatar, Toyota in Imola and Jota in Spa-Francorchamps.
The hope of seeing a French car, namely Peugeot, triumph on Sunday afternoon on the Sarthe circuit is infinitely slim. The Lion brand, whose last of three victories at Le Mans dates back to 2009, is still suffering this season from comparison with its rivals in terms of performance. The two 9x8s entered, which were ranked 8th and 12th in the premier category last year, would sign for a place in the Top 5. However, no scenario at Le Mans should be ruled out, the past has already proven it . After the first two days reserved for free practice and qualifying on Wednesday and Thursday, the start of the race will be given at 4 p.m. this Saturday with this year football icon Zinedine Zidane waving the checkered flag. Let the show begin !
