23-year-old German is thrown out of the team, has to pause for a season – everything is bursting now

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

For 23-year-old Elias “Upset” Lipp, the last few months in League of Legends have been a rollercoaster ride. The young man played fantastic LoL for Fnatic, but still got kicked out of the team and sidelined. But now he has found a new team and is immediately back at the top of the league. With a KDA of 44.0, he leads the statistics and his team is on course for a championship.

This was Upset’s bizarre situation:

  • German ADC “Upset” made his name at Schalken, later moving to Origen and Astral. In 2020 he finally joined Fnatic as a young talent, replacing the legendary Rekkles.
  • He played for the team for 3 years and became the linchpin of the team. A cautious botlaner, Upset posted fantastic stats, consistently topped the leaderboards – he was considered the biggest talent on the botlane in Europe, a top-notch player.
  • However, his team did not have the desired success and in 2022 Rekkles returned to Fnatic. Upset was relegated to the bench. Although Fnatic played terribly without the German, Rekkles insisted on a regular place guarantee. So Upset could no longer play at Fnatic, it was basically superfluous. He then streamed mostly on Twitch.
  • LoL: “There’s not much in my life besides the game,” says a star gamer and starts crying on Twitch

Upset joins Perkz at Team Vitality

That was the turning point: With Rekkles getting his regular spot guarantee, Upset switched to Team Vitality after all, who needed a strong botlaner to relieve their star midlaner, Perkz.

Team Vitality is a French project around perhaps Europe’s biggest star player, Croatian Perkz. But the project has not worked so far, every team combination has not met expectations. Players were exchanged again and again.

3 games and not even dead

How is Upset doing now? Outstandingly good. Team Vitality has won their first 3 all games, including knocking out Fnatic. Fnatic didn’t stand a chance with 22-3-49. Upset caught Xayah 5-0-9. Rekkles went 1-5-1 with Zeri. That was a smack.

Upset plays exceptionally well for Team Vitality:

  • After the first 3 games, Upset has a KDA of 44.0.
  • 21 kills and 23 assists versus 0 deaths.
  • So the man hasn’t even died yet.
  • There is also high praise from his new boss Luka. He writes: “Perkz farms in the middle and is giga-carried by the bot and the jungler. It’s like Season 6 and I love it.”

After years of having to bear the brunt of the team at Fnatic, Upset now has decent firepower around him at Team Vitality with Perkz in the midlane, German support Kaiser as a botlane partner and Chinese mega-talent Bo in the jungle. So the 21 year old Bo also has a KDA of 44.0 after the first 3 games and hasn’t even died yet.

Upset and Team Vitality appear to be heading for the title and MSI.

His new jungle, Bo, has come a long way in LoL despite his young age:
