23-year-old from Stockholm charged for five-year-old shooting death in Eskilstuna

The incident occurred on 21 November five years ago in central Nyfors just before 7.30 pm in the middle of people. The victim was a 22-year-old man who was previously known to the police.

DNA match on gloves

In September 2023, the 23-year-old was arrested after the police secured traces. The case took a new turn a year ago and the police were able to resume the preliminary investigation when a DNA match was found on a pair of gloves.

    The 23-year-old is charged with probable cause on suspicion of murder.

    Witness has named the shooter

    Prosecutor Kullgren says that they have witness statements and strong evidence when a witness named the shooter and that they have seized weapons and a DNA match from the night of the murder.

    Documents from the district court show that, among other things, he has previously been convicted of drug offences, assault, minor drug offenses and drunk driving.

    The defendant denies wrongdoing.
