The World Championships in Nordic skiing in 2029 have been awarded to Finland and Lahti, says the Finnish Ski Federation. The FIS board of the international skiing federation finally granted the competitions to Finland at its meeting today, Thursday.

Due to its financial challenges, the Ski Federation applied for additional time regarding the World Cup decision at the beginning of June. After that, the Ski Federation, the city of Lahti and the Lahti Ski Club reached an agreement on the local cost-sharing agreement for the Games, which was a prerequisite for signing the organizing agreement.
