Skoda is introducing some exciting updates for the Enyaq model in 2024. These changes not only bring a new design in line with Skoda’s new brand identity, but also provide significant improvements under the hood. One notable change is the removal of the “iV” name, although its electric essence remains intact.
One of the most exciting improvements is the strengthening of electric motors, improved battery management and, most importantly, longer driving ranges.
The base model, now called the Enyaq 85 (which replaces the Enyaq 80), has an impressive single-charge range of 565 kilometers under the WLTP cycle. Charging time is quite fast, it only takes 28 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% with DC charging. Speed enthusiasts will be pleased with the upgraded 210 kW engine power, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds, two seconds faster than the previous model.
The all-wheel drive variant Enyaq 85x matches a system output of 210 kW and reaches 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds. While its range is 538 kilometers, the Coupe version extends the range a little further to 548 kilometers. With a peak DC charging capacity of up to 175 kW, this model is in line with the Enyaq 85 in minimizing charging downtime.
Skoda is not stepping back regarding the Enyaq RS. With its powerful 250 kW power output, it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. Its range is equally impressive at 541 kilometers and the Coupe variant increases this range to 547 kilometers while maintaining a top speed of 180 km/h.
2024 Enyaq models don’t just showcase their electric prowess. An interesting feature includes battery preheating, which can be started manually or automatically when approaching a high-power charger indicated by the navigation system. This thoughtful addition enhances the overall electric driving experience.
On the technology front, the infotainment system is being updated to version 4.0, which includes a revamped user interface. Skoda’s Laura voice assistant is said to be a more attentive listener and improve user experience.
Production of the 2024 Skoda Enyaq is expected to begin in early November and pricing details will be announced soon.
