2024 Olympics: why is alcohol banned on Olympic Games sites?

2024 Olympics why is alcohol banned on Olympic Games sites

Surprise for spectators, especially at the Stade de France, alcohol is prohibited.

If you want to consume alcohol inside the stadiums and various sites of the Olympic Games, it will not be possible, except outside! For some, the disappointment was great at the Stade de France during the rugby 7s with many people who decided to flee the stadium for a few minutes to have a drink.

Only VIPs will be able to consume alcohol during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. While other spectators will be deprived of it, in accordance with the Évin law (the law, adopted in 1990, aimed at combating smoking and alcoholism in France), those seated in these privileged areas will be able to enjoy a beer or a glass of champagne during the sporting events (to be consumed in moderation).

But according to article L3335-4 of the public health code, “the mayor may, by order, under the conditions set by decree, grant temporary derogation authorizations, for a period of forty-eight hours at most, to the ban on sales for consumption on site or to take away and on the distribution of drinks from the third group”. This will not be the case.
