American Quincy Hall was crowned Olympic champion in the 400m on Wednesday, August 7 at the Stade de France, during the 2024 Olympic Games. In the final meters, he overtook the British Matthew Hudson-Smith (43”40 against 43”44). And behind, an exceptional performance by Muzala Samukonga, who beat his personal best and set a new Zambian record. With a time of 43”74, the 21-year-old sprinter won the bronze medal. This is the third Olympic medal in Zambia’s history, after boxer Keith Mwila’s bronze in Los Angeles in 1984 and Samuel Matete’s silver in the 400m hurdles in Atlanta in 1996.
