After more than two hours of racing in the streets of Paris, it was finally the Dutchwoman Sifan Hassan, bronze medalist in the 5,000 m and 10,000 m, who won the Olympic medal (2 hours 22 and 55 seconds) ahead of the Ethiopian Tigist Assefa and the Kenyan Hellen Obiri, in a very close finish.
