Second day of competition at the Olympic Games this Thursday, July 25, with the French women’s handball team starting their tournament against Hungary. The reigning Olympic champions, the Bleues hope to get their competition off to a good start.
Rugby 7s will also be in the spotlight this Thursday with the very last match of the group stage of the Blues, decisive for qualification in the quarter-finals, against Fiji. The potential quarter-final will take place later in the evening.
After men’s football, the second evening will end with Hervé Renard’s French women’s team taking on the Colombian team. Les Bleues, present in a tough group with Canada in particular, already have no room for error.
Today’s program at the 2024 Olympics

As in every Olympics, there will be highlights. The first week of competition will be marked in particular by the swimming events from July 27 to August 4. Leon MarchandFlorent Manaudou and Maxime Grousset will be there. You can follow their exploits on July 28th for example for Léon Marchand with the final of the 4x400m medley, on August 2nd for the final of the 50m freestyle with Florent Manaudou and Maxime Grousset. All the road cycling events will also be scheduled during the first week with the men’s race on August 3rd and August 4th for the women. Judo will also be in the spotlight in the first week with the -63kg final with Clarisse Agbegnenou on July 30 or that of Teddy Riner on August 3. Fencing, often prolific for the French delegation, will also have its events in the first part of the Olympics with the men’s épée on July 28 or the women’s sabre on July 29.

The second part of the Olympic Games from August 1st to 11th will be devoted to athletics or the finals of team competitions such as handball, volleyball, etc. For athletics, the Olympic sport par excellence, the biggest moment will be the 100m final on August 4th. To see the French chances, we will certainly have to focus on the men’s decathlon from August 2nd to 3rd. The handball finals will take place on August 10th for women and August 11th for men.
The very first medals of these Olympic Games will be awarded the day after the opening ceremony. The times of the women and men in road cycling, judo at the Arena Champ-de-Mars and fencing at the Grand Palais will award the first titles of these Olympic Games.
