Bringing innovations largely parallel to the GLA, the 2023 Mercedes GLB will be offered to users with more efficient units under the hood.
With the 2023 model year, Mercedes is here with the decision to continue on the road by updating its representatives in the compact SUV segment. In this context, the details of the changes in the new production year were shared for the GLB after the GLA. The Mercedes GLB, which will carry innovations parallel to the GLA, is an important alternative for crowded families with its wider interior living space. In the product range, which has been made more satisfactory with the revisions made especially on the design side, new color options and wheel sets will also find their place in the lists.
What does the 2023 model year makeover bring for the Mercedes GLB?
The most noticeable changes in the design focus of the GLB family will be in the grille and lighting. The front bumper, which is kneaded for a more muscular appearance in the GLA, is accompanied by the revised grille in this context. A protection panel will also be active in the lower section for the GLB. On the rear side of the model, we see a completely renewed full-LED lighting group. Wheelsets starting from 17 inches in the base version and extending up to 20 inches in the top packages will be left to the users’ choice.
When we move to the cockpit, we see that the 7-inch driver and 10.25-inch multimedia screen combination comes as standard in the base versions. On top versions, however, it brings a bezel to the table that is 10.25 inches on both sides. Improved material quality, leather Artico steering wheel, Comfort seats and LED main lights, which come as standard from the very base version, also directly affect the experience among all these innovations. Wirelessly offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and lighting the USB outputs with bezels are among the most appropriate moves in our opinion. In the most basic version of the family, the high beam assistant and LED headlight group will now be standard.

The key enhancements to the facelifted GLB family lie under the hood. In front of us are mild hybrid supports that play a role in reducing consumption as well as emission values. At the entry level of the family, we see the 48V system as standard in the GLB 180 with a 1.3-liter petrol engine. The electrical system will come up with an extra 13 horsepower at take-offs, where the vehicle’s fuel tendency increases. The GLA 180 will continue on the road with 134 horsepower and the GLB 200 with 161 horsepower. GLA 220 and GLA 250 sie continue on the road with similar supports of 2.0-liter gasoline engine and 4MATIC traction system. Of course, this scenario will also apply to versions with diesel engines.
