Hyundai has succeeded again; last year World Car of the Year got the title Ioniq 5 and now it’s new turn Hyundai Ioniq 6′in.

But that wasn’t the end of the rewards for Hyundai Group – Kia EV6 GT to 2023 World Performance Car was given the title.
Hyundai Ionic 6competed against the BMW iX1/X1 duo and the Kia Niro was also shortlisted. The BMW i7 and Lucid Air were nominated for the World Electric Vehicle award and the Ioniq 6 received the award from them. Lucid Air and Range Rover were also shortlisted for the World Design award, but again the Ioniq 6 took the trophy.
On top of that, SangYup Lee, head of design for Hyundai and Genesis (who is also Hyundai’s Vice President), was named 2023 World Car of the Year.
Lucid Air finally World Luxury Car won the title, and the Citroen C3 took the title World Urban Car and walked away. Hyundai Ionic 6competed against a total of 21 cars from the largest automobile manufacturers in the car of the year award.
An incredible performance from Hyundai, a testament to the bold design language adopted by the designers. Next year will be very interesting, the competition will include the new Kia EV9, Polestar 3 and Audi Q8 e-tron. Let’s not forget Hyundai though, the company’s third electric car this year.
