2022 was also marked by a number of severe storms and other extreme weather. It was especially hit in February, with no fewer than four storms. First an unnamed storm on February 6, followed by the triple storms Dudley, Eunice and Franklin on February 16, 18 and 20. In total, this stormy period caused no less than 500 million euros in damage. Storm Eunice in particular also caused unprecedented havoc in Utrecht. In many places trees blew over and roof parts and solar panels flew down and there was also chaos on the road that day.
