200 tons of food have been unloaded in Gaza

Beans, carrots, rice, oil and salt. These are some of the vital supplies that have now been unloaded and will be distributed to those in need in Gaza. It is the first aid shipment via ship to reach the besieged area and World Central Kitchen has seen it as a test. It is hoped to deliver several thousand tons of food in the future.

It is already clear that a ship is being prepared in Cyprus with around 240 tons of food. In addition, a lifting crane is to be included to facilitate the unloading of goods on site, however, it is still unclear when the ship can conceivably arrive.

31,000 dead

The Israeli military confirmed on Friday that the ship had arrived, that it had been searched and that military forces were in place to secure the area.

More than 31,000 people, mostly women and children, have died in Gaza in connection with Israel’s offensive, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.
