200 kmh on the A6 drugged An arrest after several

Rapper Zola was taken into custody after refusing to comply while driving well beyond the speed limit on the A6 towards Paris.

On the night of Wednesday 28 to Thursday 29 August, the police arrested a man driving a Mini Cooper S at a speed of over 200 kilometres with its headlights off on the A6 motorway towards Paris. At the time of the arrest, around 3:30 in the morning, it turned out that the driver was in fact the rapper Zola. This is The Figaro who first relayed the information on Thursday morning, before it was later confirmed by Cnews.

The 24-year-old rapper initially refused to stop despite the police’s orders. “He was arrested a few moments later near his home,” the police told the Parisian. “The arrest went smoothly,” after the refusal to comply on the road. Once arrested, Zola tested positive for drugs and was taken into custody.

The rapper is already known to the justice system, in 2018 he was caught in possession of a revolver bullet and cannabis, which earned him a fine. More recently, last June, he was sentenced to 10 months in prison suspended for assaulting a motorist and damaging his car with a baseball bat.

In less than a week, this is already the third time that a traffic stop has resulted in a driver refusing to comply. On Monday evening, a police officer lost his life, hit by the vehicle of a man who was trying to escape from a traffic stop in Mougins in the Alpes-Maritimes. On Tuesday, a municipal police officer on a motorcycle was seriously injured and placed in a coma while chasing a vehicle that had run a red light in Seine-et-Marne. The driver of the vehicle did not stop despite the horns activated by the police.
