Råd&Rön has tested 20 different varieties of saffron, and reached several conclusions:
Two of the 20 varieties tested do not meet the requirements for a first-class saffron and several of the chains’ own brands end up at the bottom of the table. Also, the most expensive is the best.

Comment: There are big differences in quality between different types of saffron. The best in the test is Sonnentor Saffron, which is also absolutely the most expensive with a price of SEK 165 per gram. That’s almost twice as much as the second most expensive product in the test.
