Two Saurons are supposed to stir up the second season of Lord of the Rings
The first season of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series has long delved into the mystery of the identity of the great Middle-earth villain, finally revealing Halbrand as Sauron in Episode 8. Literary Tolkien fans know the mighty Sauron not only as the walking armor or eye (as later in Frodo’s time), but also as shapeshifter Annatar, who could change his appearance before the fall of Númenor. Now that Galadriel knows Halbrand’s face, he will need to use new ruses in Season 2 to continue his reign over Middle-earth. The fact that shapeshifters also exist in Amazon’s fantasy series was already proven in the season finale by the three mystics who appeared to the stranger as Nori.
Now, in Season 2 of the Lord of the Rings series, Halbrand is also likely to show off his full power (including transformations). In one form he could go to the dwarves, in another forge the human rings of power. Just whether semi-rimmed actor Charlie Vickers is put in a mask for it or Whether a second actor will embody Sauron with a new face is not yet known. On the other hand, what has already leaked out according to FoF is that Sauron has several scenes with the replaced Adar actor and is badly wounded in the first few episodes.
What is certain is that we will see two very different versions of Sauron in the future. Will one of them live out its actually much more brutal side? Or does the second Sauron present himself as a misunderstood Middle-earth villain? This will be Season 2 of The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime expected 2024 show.
