Twitch streamers xQc and Sodapoppin repeatedly outbid each other to win a coveted item from WoW Classic. MeinMMO tells you what’s behind it.
This time, the well-known Twitch streamer xQc attracted attention with an auction battle in WoW Classic. In a true spectacle, he outbid fellow streamer Sodapoppin by an absurd sum for a sword that was nowhere near the value xQc was willing to pay.
xQc vs. Sodapoppin
What kind of battle was that and what sword was it about? The battle between the two streamers revolved around the Warblade of the Hakkari, a sword that drops in the Zul’Gurub raid and is usually sold for 5,000 gold. In a recent stream, after a GDKP run, there was an auction for the sword that both Sodapoppin and xQc bid on.
At first Sodapoppin was leading in the battle for the coveted sword, but xQc didn’t let up and they kept bidding. The excitement reached its peak when the price rose to a staggering 10,000 gold, already double its original value.
By the way, this can be easily converted into real money:

xQc ended up winning with a bid of 12,500 gold, but gave the sword away afterwards
Nevertheless, the two continued their competition until Sodapoppin finally gave in at an astonishing 12,500 gold and xQc won with his crazy sum. Normally, it’s extremely time-consuming and difficult to earn so much gold in WoW Classic.
The gold can be converted into real money. Although there is no WoW brand in WoW Hardcore like in Wrath of the Lich King, there are offers from third-party providers – which are not allowed. For the server and the faction of Sodapoppin and xQc, 12,500 gold is worth the equivalent of 1,300-1,500 euros, depending on the provider.
However, this should hardly be a problem for the two streamers. WoW veteran Sodapoppin and xQc are among the richest streamers. xQc received a non-exclusive contract with Kick that will pay him a total of $100 million.
Even though Sodapoppin ultimately lost in the bidding, xQc generously decided to give him the Hakkari Warblade. With the auction, the two definitely managed to create a memorable moment – one of the most expensive and at the same time most entertaining clashes in WoW Classic.
The WoW Classic Hardcore community saw a massive revival on Twitch after OTK member Sodapoppin founded the OnlyFangs guild to unite various streamers.
Recently, Sodapoppin expressly banned the streamer Asmongold, among others, from reacting to a large raid because he doesn’t want to easily share the achieved reach: Twitch streamer forbids broadcasting his guild’s raid in WoW: “You won’t benefit if you don’t do anything contributes”
