Last week was marked by the big New World update, a disruptive change to Lost Ark, and new info on MMOs in development. You can find out all the important MMORPG news from the last week in ourWeekly review.
The highlights of the week:
The studio Dark Passenger consists of former developers of Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. They have just founded and want to build an MMO that sounds like Destiny 2 with ninjas.
Black Desert Online kicks off its summer event and turns you into cute otters fighting over sand castles. The event is well received by the players.
In Guild Wars 2, you no longer get the popular Raptor in the endgame, but now from level 10.
The excitement of the week: The failed MMORPG Legends of Aria attempts a fresh start as a Pay2Earn title. It’s now selling random Pay2Win characters for €69 – and you don’t know what you’re getting.
The discussion of the week: Saintone, one of the biggest Lost Ark Twitch streamers, confirmed in his stream that if you really love the MMORPG, you can practically run out of life. This sparked a discussion in the community.
The Summer Event in Black Desert is going to be really sweet:
WoW puts a stop to boosting and New World indefinitely postpones 2 major features
This is what happened in the big MMORPGs:
Large World of Warcraft boosting communities were attacked and their Discord servers shut down. Also with regard to Dragonflight there was new information, so leveling should be 100% faster and the necessary XP for level-up should be drastically reduced.
Lost Ark made some changes to how gold is used with the weekly update. This is said to have been done as a measure in the fight against bots. However, an important button was forgotten, which is why users now have to click over 700x. Twitch streamer Asmongold also explains why raids in Lost Ark are better than in World of Warcraft.
Elder Scrolls Online responds to criticism of the combat system and changes it for the 5th time in just one year.
New World brought the big summer update and promised a dungeon finder and a new expedition within it. Both have been postponed indefinitely due to bugs.
