NetEase Games will be announcing two new games at Gamescom. Legendary game creators Suda51 and Shinji Mikami are attending the event.
Developer NetEase Gamesthe last few weeks Marvel Rivalsis working hard towards the official launch of Marvel Rivals. The free-to-play 6v6 hero shooter has had several successful testing periods. However, NetEase has yet to give Marvel Rivals fans a definitive release date. While NetEase’s announcement that it would bring Marvel Rivals to Gamescom did not announce this release date, the developer could announce it at the big event next month.
NetEase to Announce 2 New Games at Gamescom
NetEase Games’ announcement doesn’t give any hints about what these two games will be. It does say that the games will be available to Gamescom attendees to try out, suggesting that both games will have playable demos. NetEase appears to be making big preparations for Gamescom with more opportunities to play Marvel Rivals and two new unannounced games.
Of course, that’s not the end of NetEase’s Gamescom program. The team also announced that attendees will be able to try out another hero shooter, FragPunk, which was first shown at Xbox Showcase 2024. Fans will also be able to try out survival game Once Human, which was the most-played demo at this summer’s Steam Next Fest. Finally, the most exciting surprise might be that Grasshopper Manufacture’s Shadows of The Damned: Hella Remastered will be making an appearance at the event.
But it’s not just the gameplay that has us excited. Legendary game creators Suda51 and Shinji Mikami are visiting the expo. Mikami is the director of the original Resident Evil and several sequels, while Suda51 is best known for games like Killer7 and the No More Heroes series.
We’ll find out for sure when the Gamescom Opening Night Live Stream kicks off on August 20. NetEase has already confirmed that unannounced games will be featured at Geoff Keighley’s event, and there will likely be other major announcements to come.
