Does a young woman have the right to practice a combat sport? This is the question Tlana Eliezer faces when she discovers what will become “her” sport. By talking with other women, she also discovers that she must find within herself the resources to protect herself and sometimes defend herself, in the face of the sexist violence that permeates society. Boxing can help and even save victims of violence. Except that in France or elsewhere, in the Democratic Republic of Congo for example, we draw the same observation: the practice of women’s sport is not recognized for its liberating and restorative virtues.
