Grab your tie-dye shirts and peace signs – the Sixties are coming back to Wallaceburg.
The Sydenham Community Curling Club is hosting a 1960s-themed pub night July 9. It will feature the tribute band Spirit of the Sixties.
John Gardiner of Wallaceburg, who assembled the band, said in a news release the band is designed “just to have some fun and bring smiles to the faces of people who enjoy flashing back to a time when life seemed simpler and music seemed mostly happier. ”
Part of the proceeds from the evening will support the curling club.
The band will perform songs by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Neil Young, Jefferson Airplane and others.
“People have been cooped up far too long and we want people to come out and have fun,” said Curling Club president Al Kerkhof in the release. “This is a great band playing in their hometown. We’re happy to host the event.”
