Cooperation between Swedish police, Spanish police and Europol has revealed a drug trafficking network that transported cannabis in trucks between Spain and Sweden. Now 19 people have been arrested and several hundred kilos of cannabis have been seized as well as large sums of cash and jewellery, writes Europol on its website.
The investigation was started by Swedish police already in 2019. Twelve of the total of 19 arrested in the tangle have been arrested in Sweden. According to Europol, the suspects must have bought legal goods which they transported between different countries in trucks. But the drugs were hidden in the same vehicle. In February, they stopped a transport of 200 kilos of cannabis on its way to Gothenburg and one of 300 kilos on its way to Stockholm.
